Two Vipers at Wings Over Shellharbour Airshow 2026
A WORLD FIRST!!
Two full-scale Colonial Vipers, displayed side-by-side in public was an unprecedented sight to see indeed!
Towing my home-built trailer for the first time out of Canberra, I was full of trepidation about the road, the trailer and the Viper secured within. Not only did it successfully complete the trip there and back, it did so without any issues. The new truck was par oneri and provided a well powered, economical and smooth ride.
Upon arrival at the show on Friday afternoon, we were greeted by the helpful ground crew and the organiser, Kate. They made us fell very welcome indeed and we were even placed in pole position right near the front gates for general public entry. the first thing the public saw as they entered the show was two Colonial vipers pointing at them.
Unpacking of the trailer and set up of the Viper display went smoothly as did the pack up at the end of the show. Easily done by my assistant David Marriott and I alone with the new winch I had installed to raise and lower the sides.
The next two days were amazing as we were entertained by all the flying displays, smoke trails and pyrotechnic explosions. A steady stream of interested onlookers came by the Vipers, took photos, asked questions and conversed at length about Battlestar Galactica lore, their memories of both shows and interest on the building process.
Scott Stewarts MkI was absolutely amazing and it was with a great sense of pride and satisfaction that Scott and I realised our dream of getting these two sci-fi warbirds together at last.

My friend Deb from HARS has been a great supporter for years and very kind to me. It was so exciting to lavish an exclusive cockpit experience on her.
